Art, Music & Craft: The Mosul Handbag

A Live streamed family activity session 

Join the Multaka team for a jam-packed 45 minutes of fun family craft and activities, plus an opportunity to learn more about what might be the oldest handbag in the world!

 

This beautifully crafted bag was made over 600 year ago for a noble woman who lived in Mosul, Iraq. It's silver and gold decoration include geometric patterns and scenes from daily court life, including a banquet, musicians and huntsmen.

 

During this session you will have a go at the art of calligraphy, learn some simple Arabic words and make and decorate your own bag.

 

Suitable for children age 7+. Please note that an adult must be present. 

 

You will be asked to print a pdf and have some simple resources at hand for the session.
