Global Dance Film

Friday 20 November 4.30pm

A dance film premiere

Dancin’ Oxford annually host two Dance Stage events across the year, at Cowley Road Carnival and at Oxford's Christmas Light Festival. They show work from a wide range of community and youth dance groups from across the city. It's the highlight of the year for many of the dance groups.

As this has not been possible in 2020, Dancin’ Oxford, Oxford's Christmas Light Festival and the City Council’s twinning officer have joined forces to create and commission the Global Dance Film project.

This is an exciting digital project with the aim to both capture and celebrate the wonderful vibrancy and diversity of dance in our city, and across our twin cities (adding a wonderful international flavour).

The 4-min film features and captures the energy, dynamism and spirit of the dance community here in Oxford and across three of our twin cities. It will be a true celebration of all that we would have normally seen on the Dance Stages and a wonderful way to unite everyone together…on screen.

Global Dance Film includes 19 dance groups, of all ages, from right across Oxford, alongside 6 groups from Ramallah (Palestine), 3 groups from Perm (Russia) and a group from Grenoble (France).

You can watch the premiere of Global Film in a live stream from this page.
