This year’s Finding the Light is pretty special – for the first time ever we are moving this community event for people local to Florence Park into the park itself!

For one special night, the Bandstand Field in Florence Park will be open late and illuminated by beautiful lights. Come and see your local park lit up for Oxford’s Light Festival.

There will be magic amongst the trees, plenty of lanterns on display and there is even going to be a laser show by awesome GloFest DJ James Ussher – it is not to be missed.

Please bring a torch to this event, or better still, illuminate yourself.

We would love you to get involved. There will be a Community Lantern Patch where you can add your homemade lantern (and take it home at the end of the night). The only requirement is that your lantern must be able to be stuck in the ground so that it stays put, or has a sling attached if you would like it to hang from a tree!

Learn how to make a lantern

Online: Fusion Arts Oxford are running a free online workshop on Saturday 13 November where you can learn how to turn household rubbish and everyday items into lovely glowing lanterns, perfect for Finding the Light.

In person: The Flofest team will be at Florence Park Community Centre at 11am on Sunday 14 November. Come and help make lanterns to go up in the park.
