What is Oxford’s Christmas Light Festival?

A weekend of light-based cultural activities, celebrating our creative communities and launching the festive season.

Who makes the festival happen?

Oxford City Council commissions the festival but it is led in partnership with a rotating collective of Oxford-based cultural organisations including: Fusion Arts, OCM, Arts at the Old Fire Station, Film Oxford and Tandem Collective.

How often does Oxford’s Christmas Light Festival Happen?

The festival happens every year and usually in the third week of November over the weekend.

Where does it happen?

Historically it has taken place in outdoor city centre spaces and inside cultural buildings in the city centre, but since 2020 more activity has taken place in residential streets and locations across Oxford.
