Light Up with the Ashmolean Museum
Saturday 21 November 2pm-2.30pm
Live lantern-making workshop
Join us for a closer look at lamps and lanterns in the Ashmolean Museum's collection and make your own lantern to brighten up the dark evenings, with a simple craft activity.
All ages welcome, but particularly good for 5 to 11 year olds and their grown-ups.
Please have these ready for the lantern making:
2 sheets white paper (A4 printer paper or similar).
Glue stick or craft glue
Black or dark felt tip pen
Few teaspoons of oil in a jar or bowl (any cooking oil will do)
Bike light or battery operated candle
WARNING: This lantern is not for use with a live candle or flame of any kind.
This activity is not very messy but you may want to wear old clothes/apron and protect your table with old newspaper or similar.
Adults must supervise this activity.
Free Zoom session from 2pm. No need to book.
